Cool Zone sites include the county's 33 branch libraries, community centers and other locations across the San Diego region.
LA MESA, CA — The County of San Diego recently reopened its annual Cool Zones program so residents can beat the heat this summer.
The county created the program two decades ago to provide free and safe air-conditioned spaces for older adults, people with disabilities and others with health concerns that could be complicated by the effects of extreme heat.
The program will run through Oct. 31. Cool Zone sites include the county's 33 branch libraries, community centers and other locations across the region.
