Bird Walk

This guided birdwatching walk is lead by resident birder Jeanne Raimond on the third Saturday of the month. Bring binoculars and a field guide, if you have them.

Here is the schedule for 2011. There is no Bird Walk in August, but there will be two Friday Night "Owl Prowl" events on the 12th for adults and the 19th for families.

Jan. 15:  Grasslands/Spring Canyon. Meet in the Equestrian Staging Area lot.
Feb. 19: Oak Grove Loop. Meet in front of the Visitor Center
March 19:  Lake Murray. Meet in the parking lot off Kiowa Drive.
April 16: Old Mission Dam. Meet in the parking lot at OMD.
May 21:  Kumeyaay Lake. Meet in the campground day-use parking lot.
June 18 - Visitor Center Loop.  Meet in front of the Visitor Center.
July 16:  Lake Murray.  Meet on the north side of the lake by Murray Park Drive and Belle Glade Avenue. Park in the dirt lot by the ball fields.
Sept. 17:  Old Mission Dam. Meet in the parking lot at OMD.
Oct. 15: Kumeyaay Lake. Meet in the campground day-use parking lot.
Nov.19: Oak Grove Loop. Meet in front of the Visitor Center.
Dec. 17: Lake Murray. Meet in the parking lot off Kiowa Drive.
