Faces+Figures Art Show to Benefit Local Nonprofit Fresh Start Surgical Gifts
Proceeds go toward free reconstructive surgeries for children with physical deformities
Internationally known plastic and reconstructive surgeon and artist, Dr. Steven R. Cohen showcases the art of giving at his opening for his original paintings, “Faces+Figures,” on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Quint Gallery, 7547 Girard Ave., La Jolla.
It will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, a local nonprofit that provides free-of-cost reconstructive surgeries and related healthcare services.

The original art works to be displayed and offered for purchase at the opening have also been published in book form which will be available for purchase as well. These 46 paintings were inspired by a trip to Provence, France in 2013.
“Fresh Start Surgical Gifts is very important to the underserved, and I am thrilled with the center they built at Rady Children’s and their newly created program at the University of Chicago,” said Dr. Cohen.

Dr. Cohen has been a volunteer for Fresh Start Surgical Gifts since 2006 and has been named “Outstanding Surgeon of the Year” in 2009 for his devotion to Fresh Start patients.
Dr. Cohen was also awarded a United States Senate Certificate of Commendation for his work for Fresh Start and Rady Children’s Hospital where he is Director of Craniofacial Surgery.
All attendees and community members are invited to enjoy wine donated by fre-be fruit wines and hors d’oeuves.
