Fashion Valley Names New Team of Personal Shoppers

Certified team of stylists to help shoppers put best fashionable foot forward

Need a style makeover, gift ideas or looking for tips on how to dress for success? Fashion Valley has an easy solution.

A team of experienced stylists, each with more than 20 years of industry experience, has joined Fashion Valley as official personal shoppers for the center. Focused on enhancing the customer shopping experience, this personalized complimentary amenity is open to everyone, and available year-round, even during the busy back-to-school and holiday seasons.

Fashion Valley’s dream team of personal shoppers include personal stylist and image consultant Mahjuba Levine, certified stylist Jennifer Rosson of the popular Style Your Life blog and styling service, and Sandra Veum of Mariposa, a personal wardrobe styling service and style blog.

“At Fashion Valley, it’s important for our customers to have a high-caliber shopping experience,” said Chris Lane, director of marketing and business development at Fashion Valley. “The personal shopper program is a fantastic way for shoppers to get the most out of their time at Fashion Valley.”

Levine, of Bankers Hill, started her career in the industry as a teenager and was voted a Top Fashion Influencer of San Diego by Locale Magazine. She was handpicked by Stacy London of TLC’s “What Not to Wear” to join her elite network of stylists at Style for Hire. From runway to reality, Levine educates and inspires clients on looking their best in every aspect of their lives.

“My motto is, ‘it’s you, but better,’” said Levine, who refers to Fashion Valley as her office. “My passion is to work with ‘real’ men and women, helping them to build confidence through wardrobe and style.”

A resident of Scripps Ranch, Rosson was also handpicked by Stacy London to join Style for Hire. Rosson’s passion is helping her clients individually boost their confidence by discovering and celebrating their personal style. Her specialty is styling for the mainstream - real people, real budgets, real lives.

“It’s all about what the client is comfortable in, and what looks amazing on them,” said Rosson. “Most people are surprised by how easy the process is, and think ‘why didn’t I do this before?’ My goal is to make sure all Fashion Valley shoppers are treated top-notch.”

Veum, of Point Loma, created Mariposa to offer her expertise and passion for styling individuals and groups by helping them develop their own personal style and integrate it into their lives. Veum concentrates her efforts on the individual’s needs and body type, rather than a particular designer or brand.

“My niche is mixing high and low price points,” said Veum, who also works with H.R. departments at various companies to write dress code policies and is a content contributor and shopping blogger for the San Diego Tourism Authority. “Anyone can be ‘effortless chic’ with their own individual style and at any price range.”

Before the initial complimentary engagement, the personal shopper will send customers a style assessment to help determine how shoppers’ current lifestyle and activities fit within their personal style, taking into account shoppers’ preferences including favorite stores and designers, colors, and personal style choices. Through the assessment and budget parameters, the customer will be paired with Levine, Rosson, or Veum, who will tailor the perfect style recommendations to each shopper’s needs.

Fashion Valley’s personal shopper can both function like a concierge and do the shopping for customers, or escort them on a custom shopping tour of the center. The first two hours are completely complimentary.

While Rosson says San Diego is known more for its pristine surf and sand than for its sartorial savvy, she credits Fashion Valley with upping the game of San Diego’s fashion scene, due to the wide variety of brands and amenities offered at the center.

“It’s amazing that Fashion Valley is offering this service because it really sets Fashion Valley apart and shows they are trying to go the extra mile for their customers,” she said.

In addition to the personal shopper service, Fashion Valley also offers several other unique amenities including a free coat and package check, electric vehicle fast-charging stations, soft seating areas, mobile charging stations and free Wi-Fi, all in an effort to make each shopping experience more convenient and enjoyable.
