Excessive Heat Warning, Hot Temperatures: La Mesa Weather Forecast

LA MESA, CA – The week is kicking off hot, with an excessive heat warning issued for La Mesa, from 10 a.m. Monday through 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

An excessive heat warning means that heat-related illnesses are likely because of the hot temperatures. Weather officials advised residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air conditioning, stay out of the sun and check in on relatives and neighbors. Weather officials also reminded residents to never leave kids or pets unattended in cars.

"Persons working outdoors or those without access to adequate air conditioning will be more likely to experience heat related illness, such as heat exhaustion," the NWS said of those in areas under the heat warning. "Some heat related illnesses are serious enough to require hospitalization and could become fatal if left untreated."
