Helix Advances to CIF Quarterfinals in Boys Volleyball

Scotties sweep Hoover in three games, will next play Mt. Carmel on Saturday.

With a quick and decisive start, Helix Charter High School beat Hoover High School in three straight games Wednesday night to advance to CIF San Diego section quarterfinals in boys volleyball. The Highlanders won Helix won the first game  25-9. The Cardinals produced some good offense in the second game, but lost 25-19. The Scotties then scampered ahead with a strong lead in the third game and won 25-14.

The victory sends Helix to the next round in Division II at 1 p.m. Saturday against Mt. Carmel High School. Highlander junior Damion Feistel recorded 15 digs, junior Garrett Mills made seven blocks and junior Vann Sabin was credited with 12 kills.
