Hillers Reward Parents With Close Volleyball Victory Over Helix
Senior Night at Grossmont High School features back-and-forth nail-biter of a competition.
Grossmont High School won a high-energy and high-spirited volleyball contest Thursday night, battling Helix Charter High through five games before winning the stamina competition. The host Hillers thus rewarded parents on Senior Night for the team, with mothers and fathers cheering from the stands.
The first four games were close with Grossmont winning the first 25-22, Helix picking up the second and third games, 25-21 and 25-23, and Grossmont winning the fourth by 25-21 and then 15-6 as the Scotties ran out of steam.
The Hiller victory brings their league record to 7-1, losing only to Steel Canyon. Helix's league record is now 7-3.
