La Mesa Artist Exhibits Work at La Mesa Health Library

Sandra Hayen's oil paintings at Herrick Community Health Care Library

The Dr. William C. Herrick Community Health Care Library, a consumer health library at 9001 Wakarusa St. in La Mesa, is now hosting its Fall Art Exhibit featuring an exclusive showing of 16 oil paintings by Sandra Hayen of La Mesa. The exhibit will run through the end of December.

Hayen’s paintings on display showcase landscape scenes featuring ocean, mountains and flowers. The settings vary from Taos, New Mexico and Sedona, Ariz. to a farmhouse, marsh, woodland and clusters of eucalyptus trees. Hayen’s style varies from traditional realism to impressionism.

“I strive to convey a sense of beauty, sensitivity and serenity in my interpretation of nature, being pleased when others sense these feelings in my paintings,” said Hayen. “Bringing happiness to others through my work and teaching is a source of joy to me.”
