La Mesa Drug Take-Back Day Set for Saturday

Drop off your unused prescription drugs Saturday, Oct. 22, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

LA MESA, CA - Law enforcement agencies around San Diego will participate in National Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday.
The event is held in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration and allows people to drop off expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs for disposal with no questions asked.

You can drop off any of your unwanted and expired prescription drugs between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the following locations:

  • La Mesa Police Department, 8085 University Ave., La Mesa

Last April, Americans turned in 447 tons (over 893,000 pounds) of prescription drugs.

Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse, according to officials.
