Lands of Enchantment: A Musical Evening with Dominic and Nayeli Douŝa 6:30 – 8:00pm, May 31, 2014

The people of the United Church of Christ of La Mesa (UCCLM) invite you to join them at 6:30pm, May 31, 2014, for a special concert with Nayeli and Dominic Douŝa playing Dominic’s compositions for piano with four hands.  The program, which features music inspired by the scenery and history of the Southwest, will open with “High Vistas,” a suite that draws its inspiration from Mountain travels, and close with “Lands of Enchantment,” which wanders through the many moods the Southwestern landscape suggests to a journeying soul.

Dominic and Nayeli are partners in life, art and profession.  Dominic is Professor of Music at the University of Texas at El Paso, specializing in composition. Nayeli is Professor of Applied Piano Studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez.  They live, work and raise a bilingual family within the metropolises of El Paso and Ciudad Juárez.

After the musical performance, there will be a question and discussion period regarding their art and the multicultural influences on their teaching and performance.
