Major Toughness in the Minors: Teams Ignore the Rain, Finish the Game

Padres and Phillies end play in drizzle at Sunset Park in Lake Murray Little League action.

The game started under overcast skies.  In the fifth inning, it turned cold and began to drizzle. But the Phillies and the Padres—both minors teams in the Lake Murray Little League—soldiered on for a full six innings Wednesday afternoon at Madrid Field in Sunset Park.  At one time, the Padres led 8-0, but the Phillies stormed back to make the score 8-5 in the fifth. Tom Sokolnicki coached the Phillies and Rich Monzon the Padres. If you took any pictures or videos of this or any other La Mesa Little League this week, upload them here!
