Man Fatally Shot, Another Wounded In July 4 Shooting In East County
A man was shot to death and another man was wounded during a Fourth of July shooting in Spring Valley, authorities said.

SPRING VALLEY, CA — A man was shot to death and another man was wounded during a Fourth of July shooting in eastern San Diego County, authorities said Wednesday.
Deputies received a call about a shooting shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 2700 block of Central Avenue in the community of Spring Valley, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies found a man in the middle of the street suffering from several gunshot wounds to his upper torso, sheriff's Lt. Joseph Jarjura said. Emergency responders provided medical aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Additionally, another unknown male arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm and was expected to survive," Jarjura said. "He was later identified as being the second victim in the shooting. Both identities are being withheld at this time due to the investigation."
The motive and relationship between the victims and suspect or suspects in the shooting were unclear, Jarjura said. There was no other immediate information.
