Morning Commute into Downtown Snarled By Crash
La Mesa and Mount Helix residents commuting into downtown San Diego found slow going Thursday morning.

A collision on state Route 94 sent two people to a hospital and snarled traffic headed into downtown San Diego this morning.
Up to four vehicles involved in the crash shortly before 6:30 a.m. blocked two westbound lanes about a mile east of Interstate 5, according to the California Highway Patrol. Two occupants of separate vehicles were taken to a hospital.
Tow trucks were called to remove the disabled vehicles, and the CHP reported the roadway had been cleared around 7 a.m. However, residual traffic marred the morning commute.
