Grieving without stigma: GRASP meetings availible twice a month

Grief Recovery After A Substance Passing Support Group will be held twice a month!

San Diego County, if your life has been affected by a substance misuse death,

Grief Recovery After a Substance Passing has returned to support our community.

I want to start by acknowledging the profound pain that many of us have experienced due to the loss of loved ones to substance misuse. It's a sorrow that cuts deep, a pain that lingers, and it's something I've personally felt when we lost our dear Candice Nicole to methamphetamine. Her memory and the memories of all those we've lost remain etched in our hearts, and it's the driving force behind our commitment to this group.

This past year has been exceptionally challenging as we've witnessed a surge in overdose-related losses within our communities. Families, much like ours, have been devastated by this dark wave of tragedy. The suddenness of these losses can leave us with unanswered questions, and it's like trying to solve a puzzle with missing pieces. We're left with "what ifs" and "whys" that echo in our hearts.

But in the midst of this grief, we have found solace and strength in our support group. We are like a family, standing together during the storm, sharing our stories, and helping each other navigate the complex maze of grief. In this safe space, we're learning to understand our grief piece by piece, and even in the darkest moments, we're finding glimpses of light.
