Visiting Pirates of the Cajon de Oro Little League swamp the Orioles of Fletcher Hills Little League. But the result won't be remembered as much as the fun.
In Major League Baseball, the American League Orioles rarely meet the National League Pirates. But in children’s majors, the Birds face the Bucs. On Wednesday, the Cajon de Oro Pirates beat the Fletcher Hills Little League Orioles at Mor Field adjacent to Fletcher Hills Elementary School. In the fifth inning, the score was 16-2. At the end, 27-3. No matter. Both won the greater prize: playing on a verdant green field on a gorgeous late-afternoon winter day. Take that, Baltimore and Pittsburgh.
