Patricia Morse, 84; artist and dancer, she designed clothing and jewelry
A lifelong San Diego County resident, her legacy lives on in La Mesa.

According to her family, Patricia Morse lived by her own personal motto: “It doesn’t cost you anything to have fun, or to be nice.” The results of that effort led to a life filled with friends, family, travel and artistic pursuits, plus simple pleasures such as enjoying a day at the beach.
Patricia Mae Morse died April 16 at age 84.
She spent her entire life in San Diego County, graduating from Hoover High School in 1945 and marrying Robert L. Morse in August 1946 at Chula Vista’s Little Chapel of Roses—they later moved to La Mesa, where Robert still resides.

An artist at heart, Morse designed clothing and jewelry, in addition to dabbling in murals, painting and interior design.
Although her artistic endeavors never brought Morse fame and fortune, she nevertheless left her mark; an anonymous question posted online to AOL Answers wondered: “Has anyone ever heard or seen acrylic artwork by Patricia Mae Morse? My mother purchased a model home in 1975 on the living room wall is this HUGE acrylic painting by Patricia Mae Morse. I think it is dated 1973.”
