LA MESA, CA — Police activity prompted a freeway closure Friday morning in La Mesa.

A body was found around 3:30 a.m. in the eastbound lane of state Route 94 near the Spring Street off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol. The man was apparently the victim of a hit-and-run crash, the CHP reported.
