Real Pirates: The Untold Story of The Whydah from Slave Ship to Pirate Ship

Ahoy mateys! Real Pirates are here! Come to Balboa Park and see real pirate treasure recovered from the first fully authenticated pirate ship discovered in U.S. waters. Visitors to the Real Pirates exhibition will learn about the ship’s famous Captain “Black Sam” Bellamy and get a glimpse into the lives of the rest of his crew through artifacts, hands-on activities, captivating re-creations and a fascinating exploration of underwater archaeology. Grab your pirate hat, me hearties and we will see you on deck! Admission to Real Pirates is $27 and includes admission to the museum’s other exhibits and 3D theater, with discounts available for students, children, seniors, military, museum members and groups of ten or more.
