Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr

As we prepare to celebrate the birthday of Dr. King, I wanted to share how his personal history, traveling through both "valleys and mountaintops" make me feel, and possibly, how he might feel today if he were still alive. I feel that Dr. King would be very proud of the fact that American elected its first African American president (certainly a Dream realized) but incredibly disappointed that so many Americans STILL deny the rights of people today based on their skin-color or the name that they have been given. I think that Dr. King represented the VERY BEST of America, one that sees the heart, and the content of our character, rather than skin color, which is why I celebrate his birthday as well as what this selfless, humble man represented.
