Roommate Arrested in Spring Valley Stabbing, Authorities Say

BREAKING: The suspect is accused of stabbing his roommate "multiple times," a San Diego County sheriff's sergeant said.

SPRING VALLEY, CA — Authorities arrested a man for allegedly stabbing his roommate "multiple times" Monday morning at a Spring Valley residence.

San Diego County sheriff's deputies were dispatched about 6:10 a.m. to a report that a roommate was threatening another roommate with a knife in the 8600 block of Valencia Street, according to a statement from sheriff's Sgt. K. Murashige.

"The call was updated to an assault with a deadly weapon when the reporting party stated that someone was
stabbed multiple times," according to Sgt. K. Murashige.

The sergeant said an unidentified neighbor drove the victim, later identified as Justin Lacsamana, to a nearby gas station.

Meanwhile, deputies responded to the residence and contacted a subject covered in blood.

Later identified as John Borja, the stabbing suspect was arrested and taken to a local hospital to be treated, the sergeant said.

As of Monday afternoon, sheriff's detectives were continuing their investigation of the incident.
