- A salmonella outbreak prompted the recall of a salami product sold at Trader Joe's in La Mesa and across the country. Officials with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned the public not to eat Citterio brand Premium Italian-Style Salame Sticks after the product was linked to a salmonella outbreak reported in California and several other states. - San Diego was ranked No. 17 on this year's list of the Top 50 "Rattiest" Cities, according to a new ranking released by pest control company Orkin. Each year, the company ranks metro areas based on the number of new rodent treatments performed from Sept. 15 of the previous year to Sept. 15 of the current year. The ranking includes both residential and commercial treatments. (San Diego Patch)
- San Diego County public health officials reported 420 new cases of COVID-19 and 13 virus-related deaths in its latest data. Monday's data brought the county's cumulative case total to 368,267 since the pandemic began. The death toll is now 4,196, according to the county. (City News Service)
- The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose Tuesday for the 18th consecutive day and the 23rd time in 24 days, increasing nine-tenths of a cent to $4.513, its highest amount since Oct. 19, 2012. (City News Service)
