SD Firefighters Stop Forward Progress Of Allied Gardens Fire
Fire crews were responding to a blaze that had scorched about two acres in the Allied Gardens area.
LA MESA, CA — Firefighters in San Diego responded to a 1-2 acre brush fire in the Allied Gardens area Sunday afternoon. Crews were able to stop spread of the fire just before 4 p.m., the San Diego Fire Department tweeted.
Fire officials urged the public to avoid the area if possible.
The fire was burning in the bottom of the river where vegetation is thick and dry, officials said.

"A couple of water tenders which carry thousands of gallons of water are being used to get water to the area," firefighters tweeted.
No structures were threatened, officials said.
