3. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Bonsall, announced that a seventh family and children from the El Cajon school district have left Afghanistan and will be returning to California. (City News Service)
4. San Diego County health care providers began vaccinating children 5 to 11 years old for the coronavirus, one day after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's approved use of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine for them. (City News Service)
5. The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 to require safety certifications for entertainment employees, vendors and subcontractors working on outdoor events at county facilities. (City News Service)
6. The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 4-0 to spend up to $500,000 for a consultant who will seek out funding to complete the 52-mile San Diego River Park. Along with purchasing land, money is also needed for creating trails. The park runs from the Cuyamaca Mountains in Julian to the Pacific Ocean. (City News Service)
