Spring Valley Woman Killed In North County Crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities Monday publicly identified a 40-year-old woman who died over the weekend in a single-vehicle crash on a North County thoroughfare.

Stephanie Bullard of Spring Valley had just exited eastbound state Route 78 at Nordahl Road in Escondido at high speed when she lost control of her 2013 Nissan Juke for unknown reasons about 9:30 p.m. Friday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

The SUV crossed the city street without slowing and smashed into a concrete barrier wall, fatally injuring Bullard, the sole occupant of the vehicle. She died at the scene.

There were no immediate indications that intoxication was a factor in the crash, police Lt. Mike Kearney said.
