Thousands Without Power In La Mesa
The outages were impacting more than 50,000 SDG&E customers in the San Diego area, according to the company's outage map.

LA MESA, CA — Thousands of San Diego Gas & Electric customers were without power Tuesday morning in and around La Mesa.
Power outages were reported in various San Diego communities, including Balboa Park, Bay Terraces, Chollas Creek, City Heights, the College area, Emerald Hills, Encanto, Golden Hill, Kensington, La Mesa, La Presa, Lemon Grove, Normal Heights, North Park, Oak Park, Paradise Hills, Rancho San Diego, Rolando, Skyline, Spring Valley, Talmadge, University Heights and Valencia Park. The outages were impacting more than 50,000 SDG&E customers, according to the company's outage map.
The outages were first reported at 9:47 a.m., according to SDG&E.

The company was assessing the outages to determine the cause. SDG&E estimated that power would be restored at 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m. or 3:30 p.m., depending on the community.
