Why to Host an Open House

Hosting an Open House

“Prospecting” is one of the most important activities every a Real Estate Agent performs on a daily basis. Whether through Social Media, Direct Mail, or Door Knocking, Realtors work long hours trying to connect with prospective clients.  In my case, hosting an Open House is the method I found to be the most fun and rewarding.

The benefits of hosting a house are many. First, houses that could be hosted are usually vacant, giving the realtor the opportunity to investigate, and compare the numbers in the paper with the actual in-house feeling. This is a learning experience, especially when the numbers do not add up. For example: Finding out the house has more rooms than what the MLS lists or when there are discrepancies between the square footage of the listing and the Tax assessor’s information. The more houses you study, the more knowledgeable you will be, and the more valuable your advise.

An Open House is the ultimate retail store for Realtors. This is where the clients come to you; instead of knocking on their doors or sending mails, buyers present themselves to your door wanting your information and advise.

Another skill that could be developed through “Open House Hosting” is the “Gardening of Clients”.  Neighbor after neighbor, and local contractor after sabie normal guy, who once change the tiles of his bathroom (and can barely afford rent), will appear on your doorsteps. You will learn how to weed out those who want to make themselves feel good, and those who want to make you feel useless from those who could really use your help. The art of reading people is very important in this business and hosting houses will assure to sharpen your vision when speaking to prospective client.

Every business is a people’s business. Trust, honesty, and hard work are principal ingredients of the recipe for success in the Real Estate world. There is nothing like the face-to-face interaction through the neutral ground that an Open house provides.

For me, the reason to transition into Real Estate is not because I want to be a millionaire. My drive comes from the joy I get from helping people, the satisfaction of feeling productive by solving other people’s problems or fulfilling their necessities mixed with the love I have for brick and mortar.

My goal is to help the most amounts of people to get what they are looking for; only then, I will get what I am looking for.

Please contact me, tell me what you think. I want to be your expert and help you get what you want. Whatever that is, I will be here to help you.
