Woman Drives Vehicle Into La Mesa Apartment

No one was seriously injured Monday when a woman crashed her vehicle into an apartment building at 5841 Bari Court in La Mesa.

LA MESA, CA — No one was seriously injured Monday when a woman crashed her vehicle into an apartment building at 5841 Bari Court.

It happened at 2:42 p.m., La Mesa Police Department Sgt. Tim Purdy said.

The woman – whose name and age have not been released – "was apparently attempting to park in the stall directly in front of Unit A in the apartment building," Purdy said. "For an unknown reason, she lost control of the vehicle and went through the front window into the building."

Two people inside the apartment escaped injury.

Purdy said the vehicle driver may have accidentally hit her gas pedal.

Purdy said the vehicle driver complained of pain and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The accident remains under investigation.
