$106K Raised For Local Food Bank By East Bay Raley's Chain
Nonprofit Raley's Food for Families raised a record $2.1 million total this year from customers, vendors and staff.
EAST BAY, CA — Customers, suppliers and staff at Raley's, Nob Hill, and Food Source stores raised nearly $106,660 for hungry area residents as part of the grocery chain's annual holiday drive, Raley's Food For Families.
Raley's Food For Families is a nonprofit organization that partners with 12 food banks in Northern California and Nevada — where the chain's stores are located — in hopes to reach the 1.4 million food-insecure people in those communities, Raley's wrote in a press release. The nonprofit worked with food banks to create holiday bags that reflect the needs of local customers.
The grocery chain raised a record $2.1 million across all of its stores. East Bay locations —Alameda, Fremont, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Livermore, and Hayward — raised a combined $106,660, according to the retailer.
