Interviews of Lafayette Multi-Modal Mobility Advisory Committee applicants are scheduled for July 15.
LAMORINDA, CA — The Lafayette City Council's Multi-Modal Mobility Advisory Committee will interview two candidates seeking appointment to the committee during a special meeting Wednesday.
The committee will consider applications from Amy Budahn and Jeff Peacock, both of whom cite decades of experience related to transportation, planning, public service, and community involvement.
Budahn, an Air Resources Supervisor with the California Air Resources Board and a seven-year Lafayette resident, told the city she wants to help shape safer, healthier transportation options for residents.

She said her professional work includes supervising environmental engineers, city planners, public health professionals, and transportation experts overseeing California Climate Investments focused on clean energy, public transit, active transportation, and housing.
Budahn also serves on several public advisory groups, including the U.C. Davis Community Stakeholder Advisory Committee, the Strategic Growth Council's Health in All Policies Task Force, and Contra Costa County's Integrated Pest Management Advisory Committee.

In her application, Budahn wrote that her family's decision to move closer to downtown so their children could safely walk to school strengthened her interest in improving Lafayette's transportation network.
Peacock, a retired resident who has lived in Lafayette for 34 years, pointed to his previous service on the Parks, Trails and Recreation Commission from 2003 through 2013, including chairing its Trails subcommittee. He said he authored Lafayette's first formal Trails Master Plan and has long advocated for connecting neighborhoods while encouraging walking.
Peacock also said he wants the committee to address downtown walking and traffic issues by promoting alternatives to automobile travel while supporting local businesses. His current volunteer work includes Contra Costa County Search and Rescue and serving as president of the Lamorinda Area Radio Interest Group.
The subcommittee will interview the candidates during its special meeting before making recommendations on appointments to the Multi-Modal Mobility Advisory Committee.
Meeting begins 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Conference Room 265 at Lafayette City Offices, 3675 Mount Diablo Blvd.
