LAMORINDA, CA — A small stretch of Mt. Diablo Boulevard in Lafayette has shifted hands again, with new operators reading to open doors but sticking to the barbecue business.
The newest tenant to fill At 3422 Mt. Diablo Blvd. is appropriately named — Mt. Diablo BBQ.
The new operators are preparing to open as a self-described family-run barbecue restaurant focused on authentic American smokehouse fare and community gathering.
More than a dining room, according to the website, Mt. Diablo BBQ aims to become “your spot” — a place where guests connect over food, company, and a shared neighborhood identity.
The operators promise that “every guest who walks through our doors deserves a world-class plate and a memory worth keeping,” signaling a service philosophy built around consistency and hospitality.
The space itself has seen a succession of barbecue brands claiming the smoke-filled legacy of the address. Horn Barbecue most recently operated in the location before exiting the site. Prior to that, Bonehead’s Texas BBQ occupied the address until closing, followed earlier by All the Smoke BBQ.
