School Funding Measures Gain Early Voter Support

Two school funding measures have cleared the required two-thirds threshold in early Contra Costa County election returns.

LAMORINDA, CA — Two measures to benefit school districts in Contra Costa County cities were at the two-thirds vote thresholds needed to pass in early returns Tuesday night, with one other measure nearly there.

All three measures would benefit districts in the cities of Moraga, Lafayette and Walnut Creek and would go to elementary and middle schools in their districts.

Measure I in Moraga School District was passing with 68% of the vote in the first returns posted at 8 p.m.

In the Lafayette School District, Measure H appears destined to pass, with 74% of voters approving it so far.

Measure L in the Walnut Creek School District was at 62% approval in early returns, short of the two-thirds threshold.
