Assistance League Way Side Inn Thrift Shop's "Spring Fling" Not For Women Only!

The dedicated member volunteers at Assistance League® Way Side Inn Thrift Shop, located at 3521 Golden Gate Way in Lafayette, want to remind you that spring is a time of renewal, a time when Nature presents a palette ranging from soft, delicate pastels to deeper, more full bodied colors. Add a backdrop of floral prints, stripes, solids, textured easy-care fabrics designed in relaxed, gently fitted and tailored styles, and you can rejuvenate your in-house spring line with a few, carefully selected pieces.

This not-for-women-only event, which begins on Tuesday, March 10, promptly at 10 AM, includes men’s long and short sleeved checkered and plaid shirts, knit polo shirts for casual and golf wear, belts, leather shoes and a power tie or two for those who are still “on the clock.” Likewise, a quick turn on the heel gets you to the children’s section, which features light weight cotton items, again ranging from pastels to bright colors. As always, the shelves are lined with toys, all of them looking for a home.

Without dropping names, a reality retail check, i.e., an exercise in window shopping, confirms that women’s jackets and suits, enhanced in lime greens, peach tones and yellows, are the key pieces this season. A close second includes spring skirts, some of them linen or floral, striped and floral shirts, cotton sweaters and sleepwear. Put your best foot forward with a selection of shoes for most occasions, fling on a versatile and colorful scarf, and top it off with a hat that offers style and sun protection, all of which help you greet the vernal equinox with the energy it deserves.

Not to be overlooked, a splendid array of spring eye candy, calorie free, includes glass/crystal baskets, china, figurines, floral, porcelain miniatures, as well as other collectibles. New spring jewelry, picture frames, and recently arrived books (What’s a thrift shop without books?) await your discerning eye without depleting your closely guarded wallet.
