Cal Baseball: The Hard Work Continues

The Cal Baseball Foundation holds Annual Online Auction.

Cal Baseball may have lost its funding in 2011 when UC Berkeley cut funding to several sports programs, but supporters put on their rally caps and went to bat to save the team. Save Cal Baseball (Cal Baseball Foundation) raised enough money to breath life into the program and allowed the long legacy of Cal Baseball to continue.

Now in 2014, the program is strong with talented new recruits and seasoned upperclassman that weathered the 2011 cuts with an amazing “Go Bears” pride. Alumni and supporters came together to improve the stadium with lights and a new scoreboard. Cal Baseball is stronger than ever. This local D1 program offers opportunities to play at a higher level for some, and provides a great spectator experience for all.

However, the work is not done. This D1 program must be self-sustaining. Their scholarships and program costs are all paid from the dollars raised through the Cal Baseball Foundation.
