🎶 Flock of Flutes in Concert – November 8 at 3:30 PM, Don Tatzin Community Hall (Lafayette Library)
Experience the shimmering sound of 30 flutes in harmony as Flock of Flutes takes the stage under the direction of Martha Uhey and Monica Williams. This dynamic Bay Area ensemble showcases the full range of the flute family — from the sparkling piccolo to the resonant depths of the alto, bass, and contrabass flutes.
The program features an inspiring mix of pieces that transport listeners through vivid soundscapes — from the serene reflection of Amanda Harberg’s Prayer to the haunting mystery of Jonathan Cohen’s Bancroft Castle and the playful rhythms of Tico Tico. Other highlights include *Jazz for the Sea Turtle and Dolphin by Blaz Pucihar, La Château Hanté by Nicolas Avinee, Umoja by Valerie Coleman, Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and more.
Join us for an afternoon of color, texture, and joy — a celebration of community and creativity through the voices of thirty flutists united in sound!
