On Friday, Sept. 18, the Montelindo Garden Club presents botanical illustrator and member Lee McCaffree, speaking on her time as Botanical Artist in Residence at the famous Oak Spring Garden, the 700 acre estate of Paul and Rachel “Bunny” Mellon in Virginia. Her horticultural interests and philanthropy established the Oak Spring Garden Foundation on the property to serve as a center of study inspired by Mellon’s love of plants and landscape design. It holds residencies, symposiums and workshops and opens the extensive horticultural library to researchers.
