Pacific Chamber Orchestra: Songs of the Heart

Pacific Chamber Orchestra's 2026-27 season opens with a three-concert Classics series: Songs of the Heart; Mozart Unleashed and Melodies from Deep Within.

The first concert of the season, Classics I: Songs of the Heart, opens at 3:00 p.m. on September 19 at Del Valle Theater in Walnut Creek. This program is centered on music of emotional immediacy.

Samuel Barber's stirring Adagio for Strings, one of America's most recognizable and treasured classical works - shares the program with 2026 Pulitzer Prize composer Gabriela Lena Frank's vibrant An Andean Walkabout.

Also on the program are: Benjamin Britten's captivating Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings with tenor Samuel Faustine and French hornist Craig Hansen, Edward Elgar's radiant Serenade for Strings, and Dag Wiren's exuberant Serenade for Strings.
