City of Martinez Senior Center

CLARINET FUSION, the Bay Area’s premiere Clarinet Choir, brings their resonating sound to an upcoming concert titled ‘This is Halloween’ at 7PM on Friday, October 23 at the Martinez Community Senior Center. Join us for a ghoulish mix of tunes that includes popular, fun!, classical, and some rock &amp; roll!
 &nbsp;
Clarinet Fusion, a recipient of the Contra Costa County Arts Recognition Award, is based in Pleasant Hill and is in its 18th year entertaining audiences around the Bay Area and beyond. With its wonderful blend of 9 musicians playing 5 different kinds of clarinets – from the smallest high-pitched Eb clarinet at 19 inches to the largest Contrabass clarinet at 9 feet, Fusion brings its varied musical programing for the enjoyment of all. Come learn about clarinets, hear some great music, and the emcee will share some fun facts about the songs along the way. The musicians will be available to talk with you and answer questions after the concert.
 &nbsp;
The concert is open to the public – all ages welcome!&nbsp;Doors open at 6:30pm.
Tickets are $5 per person and available at the door.

Adventures in Jazz 2026 at the San Ramon Library returns for a new season of fine jazz! &nbsp; 
The season’s second show is set for Saturday, October 24 and it features The Tammy McCann Trio!
Tammy McCann is Chicago Jazz Royalty. An international vocal star and former “Raelette“, she brings her signature sound to the stage, accompanied by Larry Dunlap on piano and Ruth Davies on bass. It will be an unforgettable, sultry night of timeless hits and jazz standards with a touch of gospel and blues.
The performance will be held in the upstairs community room at the San Ramon Library on Montgomery Street, Saturday, October 24th, starting at 7:30 pm.&nbsp;

The Diablo Symphony opens its 2026–2027 season, “Breathe,” on Sunday, October 25, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lesher Center for the Arts. Celebrating the resilience of the human spirit, the program includes Jean Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2 and Sergei Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with award-winning pianist Leyla Kabuli (also a PhD candidate in electrical engineering and computer sciences at UC Berkeley). In contrast, Carlos Simon’s meditative piece “Breathe” (written, in the composer's words, to encourage listeners “to simply reflect and breathe”) opens the concert.

Jen Silverman's The Moors is a dark, surreal comedy that brilliantly subverts classic 19th-century Gothic literature—particularly the works of the Brontë sisters. It explores themes of loneliness, power, and visibility through a bizarre, sometimes violent, but darkly hilarious lens. Performances will be Oct. 28-Nov. 1.Running time is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
