Consignment Customer Arrested At Lafayette Shop

A customer at a Lafayette consignment shop was arrested after returning twice with goods the shop owner suspected were stolen.

LAMORINDA, CA — A consignment shop customer was arrested after returning twice with goods the shop owner reported to police as being stolen.

Earlier in the week, a vendor contacted police after suspecting an Oakland resident had tried to consign stolen property at their shop in the 1000 block of Oak Hill Road. On Friday, the same customer returned to the store to consign additional items that police suspect were stolen.

Police arrested the customer, a 50-year-old Oakland resident, Friday at the Lafayette shop.
