Contra Costa County Ceremony To Honor Veterans Goes Virtual
Most years, the supervisors host an in-person ceremony in their chambers the week of Nov. 11.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY (CBS SF) — Even if the COVID-19 pandemic forces changes and adaptations for many daily rituals and special time-honored ceremonies, thanks and appreciation to military veterans for their service came through strong and clear during a Veterans Day program Tuesday that was part of the regular Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors meeting.

Most years, the supervisors host an in-person ceremony in their chambers the week of Nov. 11. The ceremony began at 11 a.m., acknowledging the end of World War I fighting at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11, 1918.
But this year, with the supervisors forced to meet “virtually” due to the pandemic, Contra Costa veterans were honored the same way Tuesday, via
a 40-minute pre-produced program.
