Coronavirus: Lafayette Cancels All City Meetings, Events
The City is doing its part to halt the spread of coronavirus.
LAMORINDA, CA — The city of Lafayette is canceling all city meetings, programs, classes and any events at city-owned facilities through the end of March because of concerns over the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.
Mayor Mike Anderson ordered the cancellations in consultation with other city officials. The closures will be effective Friday, with the exception of preschool and child care programs that will remain operational through next Wednesday to allow parents time for alternative arrangements.
No COVID-19 cases have been reported in Lafayette. City officials said the measures will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks as more information is known about the virus and its spread.
