Daytime Closures This Week On Canyon Road Bridge

LAMORINDA, CA — Expect daytime closures on Moraga's Canyon Road bridge for the rest of this week.

It is closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday to protect the safety of construction workers and the public as bridge construction moves into its final stage, police said Monday.

The bridge spans the west branch of San Leandro Creek.

Another closure is planned on Sept. 13.

During the closures, workers will remove the creek diversion and falsework and install rock on the slope under the bridge.

The original bridge was built in 1936 and closed in 2017 when a landslide damaged it.
