Dollar Tree Opens - Softly - In Moraga

Patch photographer Evan Mew was out and about in Lamorinda Sunday when he noted that the Moraga Dollar Tree was open for business.

I couldn't help but notice that the store in the Rheem Valley Shopping Center was open Sunday so I unpacked the cameras and took a look.

Regional Director Roselyn Hammond was welcoming shoppers with free doughnuts and coffee and every employee welcomed every customer with a "Hello and Welcome to Dollar Tree" greeting that quickly became the mantra of the morning.

The Dollar Tree, which opened up in the old Blockbuster location, was bright and cheerful with balloons on every aisle and merchandise everywhere.

Hammond said Sunday's opening was a "soft" opening with the "big guns" coming out on June 18, when the store celebrates its official Grand Opening.
