Don't Believe the Hoax: Big Mac Is Here to Stay

The rumors on social media are false. The famous Big Mac is not going anywhere, McDonald's representatives say.

Could it be true?

Could McDonald’s really be dumping its signature two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun?

No, the chain says, the Big Mac isn’t going anywhere, despite social media rumors to the contrary.

A viral falsehood that the Big Mac will be eliminated as part of the fast food giant’s attempt to revamp its menu has made the rounds this week on Facebook and Twitter. But, McDonald’s representatives say, there’s no meat behind that rumor.

The latest internet hoax was prompted by an announcement earlier this month from McDonald’s that it will be cutting eight items from its menu as soon as January. McDonald’s has not announced which menu items will get the boot yet, but via Twitter, it reassured Big Mac lovers their favorite sandwich is here to stay.
