Fourteen Orinda Persians Look For Homes

Call them the Orinda Fourteen.

The Community Concern for Cats organization is trying to find landing places for 14 Persian cats who unfortunately were bounced from their Orinda home.

The 14 came from an elderly owner in Orinda who had a fall in April and was moved to a care facility, according to a blog post on the CC4C website.

"They are very sweet and gorgeous," said organization President Gemma Osendorf in a CC4C news release. The cats appear to be in good health but will need veterinary treatments before they can be placed, she said.

CC4C is a nonprofit based in Walnut Creek with volunteers who hold regular adoption sites from 1-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at Pet Food Express locations in Lafayette and Pleasant Hill, and PETCO in Walnut Creek.

CC4C is planning an Internet Cat Video Film Festival for Sept. 7 at Heather Farm Park, Walnut Creek. The event will have participation from many area animal rescue groups, arts and crafts, and presentations by music and theatre education groups.
