Free Sandbags Available In Lamorinda

LAMORINDA, CA — Call it the Pineapple Express, or an atmospheric river - just don't ignore the storm heading for Lamorinda. Weather forecasters are warning that rainfall records could be set.

Here's where to find sandbags, and don't forget to bring a shovel —

• Lafayette Public Works Dept Corp Yard 3001 Camino Diablo or Mt. Diablo Blvd at Risa Road – sand and bags available, do it yourself.
• Moraga Self serve sand and sandbags are available for Moraga residents at Fire Station #41, 1284 Moraga Way.
• Orinda Self serve sand and sandbags are available for Orinda residents at Fire Station #44 on Orchard Rd and Wagner Ranch Sports Fields.

Fill the sandbags half-full to allow room for tying them closed and so the sandbags can conform to empty spaces as you are placing them.
