Front Porch Music Packs Town Hall Stage In Lafayette

Five acts at Town Hall Theatre showcase the best of Lafayette's vibrant music community.

LAMORINDA, CA — The stage at Town Hall Theatre will be filled with music — and not just figuratively — on April 3 with five acts and twenty local musicians.

The group will be on stage for the Front Porch Music night of folk, Americana, acoustic sound, and "radical hospitality" at Contra Costa County's oldest theatre company.

Pre-show lobby music starts at 6:15 p.m., followed by the main concert from 7–9 p.m.

The lineup of harmony, rhythm, and storytelling spotlights the Front Porch Music community.

Mark Kapner, who performed at the original Woodstock festival with Country Joe and the Fish and later toured with Neil Diamond, will join the Mt. Diablo Songbirds for a set filled with piano, guitar, ukulele, and banjo classics.

Moraga guitarist Roy Kelvin and special guests reinterpret folk-era favorites, and Redwood Grove delivers bluegrass and Americana energy.

Mo B. and Dick take on classic country and folk tunes, while Slow Train with Joe Peters blends originals with a full East Bay ensemble.

“We’re thrilled to present our fourth season of local musical talent at Town Hall Theatre,” the executive director of Front Porch Music, Andree Hurst, said.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door at the Town Hall Theatre, 3535 School St., Lafayette.
