Home Burglarized in Lafayette

The suspects got away with jewelry and other items, but left behind things that appear to have been "staged" for theft.

LAMORINDA, CA — The Lafayette Police Department reports that a home in the 3100 block of Camino Colorados was burglarized on Friday, Aug. 19. The suspects got away with jewelry and other personal items from the home.

According to an investigation, the suspects entered the through an unlocked side gate, and then pried open a sliding glass door on the back of the home. The home was not ransacked. Instead, police say the "suspect(s) were very selective in the items they removed."

Some items removed from the home were left in the backyard.

The residents had locked all doors and windows before leaving home at 10 a.m.They discoered the burglary when they returned at 3 p.m.

Police gathered evidence at the home.
