Key Decisions Tuesday At Special Moraga School District Board Meeting

A proposed 7-year tax to fund teachers, programs, and class-size limits tops a special school district board meeting agenda.

LAMORINDA, CA — The Moraga School District Governing Board will discuss a proposed $295-per-parcel annual education tax at a special meeting tomorrow.

The parcel tax, if approved by voters on the June 2 ballot, would generate critical local funding for the district over seven years, helping to retain teachers and staff, maintain academic programs, and prevent class-size increases. A public hearing on the measure is scheduled during the meeting.

The board will also review and approve the district’s CSBA Delegate Assembly nomination, selecting a representative to participate in the statewide assembly. The CSBA, or California School Boards Association, is a statewide organization that supports school boards with advocacy, training, and policy guidance.
