Lafayette Art And Wine Festival Road Closures

50,000 people are expected to attend the festival!

LAMORINDA, CA — This promises to be a fun weekend in Lafayette as the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce hosts its 22nd Annual Art and Wine Festival. More than 50,000 people are expected to flock downtown for music, art, vendors and, of course, great food and wine.

Here's an alert from the Lafayette Police Department about road closures:

>>We will be closing the southbound lanes of Oak Hill Boulevard at Mt. Diablo Boulevard. The roadway will be completely blocked just north of Mount Diablo Boulevard. You will still be able to get to all the businesses in the area, but just won't be able to turn onto eastbound Mount Diablo Boulevard. The access to the Safeway parking lot will be blocked from Oak Hill Road. Please use First Street to access Safeway.

Suggested routes around this closure:
• Moraga Road: Use Deer Hill Road to First Street, then travel west-bound on Mount Diablo Boulevard and then turn south onto Moraga Road.
• East-Bound Mount Diablo Blvd: Use Deer Hill Road to First Street, to east-bound Mount Diablo Boulevard.

Dewing Avenue at Mt. Diablo Boulevard
This year, we will be allowing vehicles to turn from northbound Dewing onto Mt. Diablo Boulevard. Residents should expect some delay in this area of the city. Vehicles will also not be able to access Mt. Diablo Boulevard from the access road behind the stores on the north side of Mount Diablo Boulevard.

Suggested routes around this closure
South of Mount Diablo Boulevard
• To reach west-bound Mt. Diablo Boulevard: Use Bickerstaff to Mountain View
• To reach east-bound Mt. Diablo Boulevard: Use Brook Street to access Moraga Road.
North of Mount Diablo Boulevard
• To reach west-bound Mt. Diablo Boulevard: Use the access road to travel west to Happy Valley Road.

Mt. Diablo Boulevard between Dewing Avenue and Moraga Road will be closed for the conduct of the Festival. This roadway will be closed from 7 p.m. on Friday until midnight on Sunday.

Lafayette Circle will be closed near the Bank of the West on the west side. Residents will still be able to get to all of the apartments on Lafayette Circle. On the east-side, Lafayette Circle will be closed near Chow's.

Closures remain in place until midnight on Sunday.
