LAFAYETTE, CA — A Lafayette homeowner recently returned from vacation and discovered their home had been ransacked and burglarized, police officials said. The suspects likely entered through an open upstairs window of a home in the 700 Block of Tofflemire Drive during the week the residents were away on vacation.
According to police, the suspects took various electronics, jewelry, and other items of value. In an email to sent to neighborhood watch leaders soon after the burglary, Lafayette Police Chief Eric Christensen indicated there's been a recent uptick in similar crimes.
